Dubai Municipality, in coordination with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), will hold the annual Dubai Ride on Sunday, November 1, offering cyclists two distinct routes through the city. The first, a 12km course along Sheikh Zayed Road, is aimed at experienced riders and passes the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal and Burj Khalifa, with five entry points at the Museum of the Future, Al Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay and Lower Financial Street.
The second route, a flatter 4km family loop through Downtown Dubai, circles Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa and suits riders of all ages and abilities. Both routes carry a 25km/h speed cap, and organisers stress the event is not a race.
Online registration is mandatory, and participants without a bib number will not be allowed to take part. Adults must register individually, while parents or guardians can register up to three children, provided they sign a waiver on their behalf. Bib collection takes place on Saturday, October 31, from 8am to 11pm, at Dubai Municipality's 30x30 Fitness Village in Zabeel Park, Gate 2.
On event day, the start is at 6am, with routes opening at 6.15am, mandatory entry closing at 7.30am, and the routes shutting at 8am; participants are asked to arrive between 4am and 6am. Three parking areas have been designated — Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Mall Parking and Dubai Mall Zabeel Parking — with early arrival advised due to limited space.
Required gear includes a fully functional bicycle, a helmet for riders of all ages including children, an attached bib, closed-toe sports shoes and a filled water bottle. Pedal-assisted e-bikes, tandem bicycles, children's bikes and trailers are permitted as long as they are used safely.
